mommy’s favorite playdough

February 11, 2010

As many of us are experiencing some serious winter weather, here is a recipe that everyone might enjoy!

Chocolate Playdough

1 cup flour

1 cup warm water

2 teaspoons cream of tartar

1 teaspoon oil

1/4 cup salt

1/4 Cocoa powder

Mix all ingredients in a medium pot.

Stir over medium heat until it starts to get thick and pull away from sides of pot.

Remove from heat.

Knead when cool.

Store in air-tight bag.

Eat at midnight. But, actually, you could- if necessary. (thank you Beth for this recipe!)

Just FYI… you can substitute food coloring for the cocoa. (add after stirring all other ingredients over medium heat). Also, Morgan’s pre-school teacher has used kool aid mix in place of the cocoa – gives it color and makes it smell great! Have fun experimenting!
