telling time

March 31, 2010

Does anyone have  a digital alarm clock that they LIKE? My husband does not say one thing about our furnishings in this house other than his alarm clock on his bedside table. He truly thinks I have had it since the 80’s- I can’t remember if I had it in my dorm or not? Anyways, I have done many searches for a good clock and am coming up short.  Apartment Therapy wrote an article on it in 2007 and that was helpful but I am still left with no solution. If you know anyone who may have a suggestion, please help! thanks.

I’m don’t think my digital clock is from the 80’s, but I’d bet circa 90’s for sure. However, my much cooler and hipper daughter has one from The Sharper Image she got for Christmas that charges and uses her I-Touch. I’m fairly clueless about the whole I-Phone, I-Everything; however, I do know there are some nice looking sleek digital clocks/docking stations that you can put your I-phone in. Not only does it look good, you get to wake up to your music of choice, as opposed to the static a.m. station that is usually going off on our ancient ones. When (if) I finally progress to the I-phone, maybe I’ll get one too! Or at least get my daughter’s hand-me-down when she upgrades…

I love my little Brookstone travel alarm clock with digital clock, thermometer, calendar and snooze alarm. Its small, compact and folds up. The face lights up in the dark for 3 seconds when the top is pushed. I use it all the time now, not just for travel.

I remember being at a hotel once and they had a great alarm clock cause it was a CD player and a MP3 player as well. It was sleek and small with great sound and the great thing is you can wake up to your favorite music. I can’t remember what brand it was, but first check out Sony. Also, my girlfriend has an alarm clock that displays a small light to your ceiling where you can see the time on the ceiling. That wouldn’t be for me, but I’m sure some people might like that!

Thank you for these ideas! I ended up buying this one at the airport and so far, so good! http://www.brookstone.com/TimeSmart-Self-Setting-Alarm-Clock-Radio.html?his=2%7E46337%7E2%7Eroot_category%40kwd%7Eclocks&bkiid=searchResults|C4CategoryProdList1FDT|7817473
