convenient reading

May 20, 2010

My friend Diana has let me borrow her Kindle this week to try it out. I like it as it’s so portable so it would be great for travel, but I have no other device to compare it to.  I have read 2 good books recently. The Glass of Time and Little Bee.  Please leave a comment if you have experience with a reading device you like! Thanks!

Hi – I am Jill Weisswasser’s cousin – she sent me a link to your blog because I was looking for appetizer recipes. 🙂

Anyways – I have the Kindle and I LOVE it. From what I have read, it really is the best option out there.

I put this on your facebook site-but I love my nook–also nice that they have a nook kiosk at Barnes and Noble so that you can ask questions and have them help you with any problems–go for the nook!

If you don’t evaluate the iPad for this purpose… ok, just check out the iPad before you make a decision. I am guessing that your decision will be made for you. I don’t even have one, but so many people can’t be wrong – and think of all the other uses!

Oooops… That comment is from Chris Bolling. Katie must be logged into my computer still for WordPress.

Some friends here did a lot of research and they all chose the nook. I believe the Kindle can’t access library books, which is a huge negative in my view.

My friend Kirstan says: “I have the nook and love it. Library friendly and can share books among other nookers. WiFi, music, easy peasy to order books.”

I have the Kindle and really like it. I didn’t really pursue other options because 1) it seems like they really worked hard on working the kinks out with this second model 2) I love amazon.com and have an established account there and have been happy the past few years with them 3) it kind of seemed like the one to choose when I picked other devices such as wanting music/phone I went with ipod or iphone but for reading I felt drawn to amazon. no real research done though. Also the ipad is like $500 and I can’t figure out why you’d want that in addition to an iphone. Anyway good luck!

I’d get the Ipad, does so much more. Rich has the Kindle and loves it but just thing the Ipad is the next best thing and offers so much more. It is a little bigger however.

I like my kindle. It was a gift so there was no research involved and nothing to compare to personally, but I am happy with it.

I have the Kindle and love it, except it doesn’t have a back light for reading in bed at night. BIG bummer. Or at least the version I have doesn’t. I gave Darren the iPad as a gift and we haven’t really gotten into yet, but is,of course, impressive and provides so much more than the Kindle or nook. Either way, this would be a gadget you’d love, Suz.
