smoothie kick

We are on a serious smoothie kick at our house.  My boys are not breakfast eaters so any type of protein I can get in their bodies before school is a success!  Here is my quick recipe for morning smoothies.  Do you have a good recipe for me??

Grab a blender and add:

1/2 C. of Vanilla Yogurt

1 full scoop of Whey Protein Powder (I use the Vanilla flavor)

1/2 C. Apple Juice or Orange Juice

About 1 C. or more of any frozen or fresh fruit

We try different fruits every day and this makes about 3 glasses worth.  All my measurements are approximate. At 7:00 am, they need to be.

    I cram a lot into my smoothies – walnuts, oat bran, flax meal and sometimes even spinach! My 3 year old never knows the difference and just gobbles it up!

    I add LOTS of healthy “goodies” to my boys’ smoothies. Spinach, sweet potatoes, peas, carrots, avocado, broccoli, flax oil, peanut butter and they never know it.

    (I keep a few jars of organic baby food in the house for when I’m running short on time and can add them to the smoothie)
