happy belated 4th and other things!
Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! We kicked ours off with our first ever “flank off” with some friends. Everyone marinated their own flank steak at home in their favorite marinade and then we cooked all of them at our house and had a taste test. The picture to the left are the
kids judges deciding whose they liked best. Most of the kids liked Sue Jackson’s marinade which is something we make ALL the time. I think it is because of the honey! The adults were torn between the other two flanks- which I will have to ask the “chefs” if they will release their recipe for you all! One had both whiskey and coke in it, to which my husband said “Well, no wonder it was my favorite!”
The rest of the weekend we spent in Breckenridge celebrating my brother-in-law’s upcoming 40th. Our sitter happened to be a town away for the weekend, so she watched the boys while the four of us could eat at Ember. It was a fantastic meal- if you go to Breck- put it on your list!
Hope you all had a great weekend too!
We recently marinated some flank steak in Soy Vay Teriyaki and that was very tasty!
fantastic! let me know if you get the chefs to divulge their secrets… : )
